Black Belt Program

Kukkiwon Dan and Poom belt promotion test

Program Overview

Our Black Belt Program is 60 minutes of advanced Taekwondo training focused on refining technique, developing leadership and discipline, and preparing students for continued growth toward Black Belt excellence.

This is where the curriculum stops being about learning the movements and starts being about mastering them.

Technical Refinement

Detailed correction of stance, timing, and power that only comes with advanced instruction

Leadership Development

Senior students help guide junior classes — teaching is part of learning

Dan Test Preparation

Structured preparation for official Kukkiwon Dan and Poom grading

Black belt students competing in pair poomsae at a championship

A Standard That Travels

Black Belt ranks earned at Kim's K Taekwondo are certified by Kukkiwon, the World Taekwondo Headquarters in Seoul — the standard recognized worldwide.

Master Sungjin Kim holds an 8th Dan from Kukkiwon and is a certified national referee in both South Korea and the United States, so students are graded to the real standard, not a local one — and it holds up on any mat they step onto, from a local open to a world championship.

Kukkiwon Certification

Internationally recognized Dan and Poom certification

Graded to Standard

Testing led by an 8th Dan master and dual-national referee

A Beginning, Not an End

Black Belt is where the deeper study of Taekwondo actually starts
